Editor’s Retreat 2012

Eighty of the best film and tv editors made their way to Austin, Texas this week for The Editor’s Retreat presented by Future Media Concepts.

The history of the conference started in 1996 as the Avid Master Editors workshop in Martha’s Vineyard.

The five-day multi-platform conference features workshops, peer presentations, fun parties and tons of cool gifts. A big advantage to attending is membership in their international expert mailing list-serve.

This year’s keynote speaker is Jay Rabinowitz, editor of films such as Requiem of a Dream and The Tree of Life.

I will be presenting two workshops: Business of Post Production Contracting and Live Streaming for Editors with a demo of Wirecast- sponsored by Telestream.

Other session topics include:
Social Media, Color Grading on Resolve with Alexis Van Hurkman, Advanced tips for Avid & FCP,
The Adobe Suite & Audio Sweeting

I’ll be blogging more about the Editor’s Retreat as it develops this week – so stay tuned!
